If you would like to explore some of the excellent wildlife sites in and around Milton Keynes, go to our wildlife sites page.

We have put together downloadable self-guided walks, with information about what you may see, for three sites where you can find a rich variety of wildlife: Walton Lake,Tattenhoe and the Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon Walk

This is an excellent site for Damselflies, Dragonflies and Butterflies. It is a large area and a number of walks are possible. This suggested route is fairly short but will enable you to sample what the site has to offer and could take more than an hour on a warm, sunny afternoon.

Tattenhoe Walk

Tattenhoe is a great place to find wildlife, with a wide variety of habitats including a brook, hedgerows and woodland that provide homes for an increasingly large range of species. This route has been designed to enable you to sample these habitats and should take about an hour, (1.7 miles)

Walton Lake Walk

A lake with a substantial reed-bed which attracts a good range of birdlife. This walk is a figure of eight which is less than a mile, but how long it takes will depend on how often you stop en route to watch the wildlife!
